Default Replacing Speakers in 95 Integra?

What size and type of speakers do you people recommend for the speakers in the front door panels and rear side panels? I am considering buying 6.5 in. for the front and rear and want to stay around the $100 range. Any suggestions? Thanks

What kind of system do you have right now? I'm assuming you already have a aftermarket deck, but if you are still using the factory deck, I suggest not to replace the speakers or just go find some cheapy paper speakers. If you do have a aftermarket deck, for around $100, I suggest the Infinity Reference 2-way.

Currently I have a Kenwood Excelon KC815 and two 10 in JL W6s in the trunk running off some crappy amp. I am considering getting rid of my subs to save weight and trunk space, and need better speakers to retain some sound quality.

I was thinking: 5 1/4in Infinity Reference in the Front Doors
6 1/2in Infinity Kappas in the rear side panels.
Any thoughts?

First of all, really nice deck you have there. Good choice on the speakers too, but I would rather have you use the Kappa for the fronts and Reference for the rear. Reason why I say that is because rear speakers basically acts as a "room-filler". Obviously, you want the best sounding speakers closer to you (driver), otherwise the seats would absorb the high frequencies. before it gets to your ear. The Kappa are better for the front because you can mount the tweeters higher and closer to you ear, therefore, you will hear the high frequencies better. If you do end up in that setup, get yourself a good 4-channel to push those speakers. The Reference should be fine with deck power, but the Kappa needs power. 120RMS as far as I remember on the Kappa. The Kappa would sound like crap with just the deck power when volume is up. Hope this help.

so far the posts for infinity have been a good recomendation also polk isnt too bad either. I currently run rockford front and rear in my ride. They are nice but i have heard better...but of course for more money. Like cerwin vega sound really nice...especially the vega series ones. Again alittle more$$ like 120 i think. But the Rockfords were like 95 i think normal price but i got mine for like 40 at employee price. After i but a small leftover amp from a previous car on then they sounded alot better. It was a 35X2 peak power Pioneer. Nothing special by any means but sounded better then the after market headunit. Be sure to check the SPL rating when buying. If you are gonna run an amp its ok to have one thats lower then the rest but if you arnt going to then look for the higher SPL, usually anything above 93 or so is good. Good luck.

What price range are you looking at?
You should take your local audio expert *cough* to Innovative Audio for some prospective audio analysis!

If it's a cheaper speaker that fits, try a set of Alpine SPS1629s. They're only $89.00 a pair. I have a set in my front doors I am using of headunit power right now. They drop right in .
