ek wit jdm-r problems
I have an ek wit a jdm R swap. There is a really big powerdip from about 4k to 6k rpm. Car is running stock jdm ecu, USDM DC header, blitz exhaust. What could this be from?
Also when im in gear above 1500rpm and on the gas, the lights are dim, once I get off the gas, they get bright again. Could this be my alternator or battery?
Could the power dip be related to the lights dimming in any way?

Cant explain the power dip, do a tune up and check all grounds. Make sure to check your timing as well.
I have the lighting problem you describe though. With my old motor never had this problem, but with the 2000 ITR at lower RPM's the lights are dim-bright-dim-bright and only stay bright once I get over 2500 RPM's or so. Havn't figured it out yet and dont feel like swapping alternators yet.

I had the same problems with my lights...what happened was my intake filter was sitting on some wires, which im assuming were for the headlights...when I would get on the gas, they would dim and when not they were normal...i moved my filter and used a new clamp to keep it away from the wires and have not had a problem since

have you checked your grounds? is there a cel light? have you tried a different ecu?
Doing Oil change tomm along with new plugs.
Sounds like a timing problem or a Fuel pressure problem. You should get a Hondata with that kind of swap. We sell Hondata at my shop. Call AR Fabrication at (540) 955-2263 between 9am-6pm EST for pricing. Ask for Howard. He'll give you the details. You might just have a nasty fuel hole in one of your maps. Hondata will be able to correct this.
Okay now, light dimming aside. Why does it have a power dip? Why is there no vtec "kick"? I can hear vtec engaging ( barely ) but no kick or jump in power.
I changed my oil and spark plugs today. Now im thinking cleaning the fuel injectors? Maybe its from the headers??

Did you adjust valves and timing?

You DO NOT need hondata with this kind of swap. Not dissing Hondata at all, but your sales tactics are rediculous.
It's like a body shop saying that a new paint job will fix the rock chip on the front bumper. Call Georgy and he will give you all the details and pricing on a new paintjob.
Timing is fine, distributor is fine, grounds are fine ( ima get more added though ). What else could it be? Tried another jdm ecu, same problem. Dirty injectors? I put fuel injector cleaner but it didnt make a difference.
