weak charging system on TypeR?
If I am driving down the highway at night and I go to change lanes.. I can actually see the headlights dim when the blinker first lights up. I assume this is just normal?
I forgot more about hondas then you will ever know....

No, it's most likely your subwoofer draining your power supply.
My lights do the same. Do you have some high wattage bulbs in your turn signals?
I have those LED bulbs in there now, and my dash lights and headlights still dim when I first signal. I dont know exactly what causes it. I hope its nothing big. I noticed that dash lights and headlights problem for a while now and nothing bad has happened. But good luck in finding out anything!

If you have a high power stereo then yes this can happen.

my lights dim like that, and sometimes my radio cuts off at high revs, must be the alternator...
Your belts are not installed properly, possibly because your pulleys are not properly aligned or not properly tensioned. What actually happens is that as the revs climb, the belt slips so that the alternator goes dead, and eventually the battery. The thing is you’ll never know by visual inspection.
Get your belt tension checked and most importantly be sure your pulleys are properly aligned.
Hope this helps.

check your wiring....pull out aftermarket radio see if wires are being pinched or cut. check battery terminals and test charging system. remember if the problem happened right after an installation........installation was not properly made. if you have a big amplifier your best bet is to get a capacitor...it works great..... and like someone said.....check belts

Why does the ITR have weaker alternators? It's it part of the design??

I'm going to get a cap when I redo my stereo system. Right now I only have a small sub amp.
I am pretty sure the belt tension was checked when I had the car MD State Inspected... I think I am going to re-ground my radio anyway.. so I'll check some wiring while I do that.
