Brji1989's CTR head/ITR block change-out: Progression to perfection or road to ruin?
i currently have cvic type r b16b i purchased the complete swap and i kind of want to buy a b18c type r just to use block and pistons with my head and cams to make more power
but i dont kno much about cars and want someone with more knowledge to tell me if its a good idea

Dude... are you trolling or what haha
Type R are pretty much the same except I think 98+ spec have little more aggressive cams.. someone will probably correct me if I'm wrong as well as roast your *** for wanting to tear apart not one, but two mechanical marvels from the factory. to answer this possible fake question you'll probs net more power on itr block thanks to bigger displacement.

It would probably be cheaper and net more power to get s b20 block and have it fitted with 84.5mm itr style Pistons
Your gonna do all that just to make a extra 10hp lol come on really!
If your not trolling keep the unicorn CTR and trans! and invest in a good engine mannagment and tune the engine. or sell it and buy a damn JDM ITR swap and call it a day, you know nothing about cars but want to build a hybrid engine for more HP haha,
on a side note if you even do that its gonna run like **** until you tune it anyway

It was a simple question because i was told ctr crank on itr long block is the ultimate b series
and regardless im getting it tuned of course
but u recommend i stay ctr and tuned or i should just buy itr and tune
Now, me personally... I see no advantage to the CTR engine over the ITR engine unless you are limited in displacement for the class of racing that you intend to participate in. Otherwise, bigger is better.

^^ I like that logic. It's not worth swapping it all over. Keep what you have.
