I've made a few posts (here and here) about my 2001 Honda Civic AC clutch plate that fell off, and am happy to report that I've finally made the repair thanks the help I received here. You can view (and assess) the results here:
I do have one remaining question, however. I noticed that my old AC clutch plate had some kind of rubber ring that went with it. The replacement clutch plate, however, did not come with such a ring. Also, the replacement plate itself, as you can see in the photos, is perfectly flat on one side, while the old one has a few ridges that seem to match the ridges on the rotor. I did not replace the full clutch assembly, so I'm using the new clutch plate with the old clutch rotor. As you can see in the video, it appears to work, but I'm a bit concerned about longevity. Think this will cause any problems for me? I'm not sure I have the time or skill to replace the entire clutch assembly, so I'm hoping I can just stick with the fix I have.
This is the old clutch plate, with the rubber ring I found next to it in the road when it fell off. This is the new clutch plate. Clearly a different design.
