b20vtec or h2b
I'm aware, but this seems like a relatively casual build, I'm assuming b20+vtec and done.
the extra 0.2 liters probably won't register on the butt dyno anymore than a decent header on the b18 would for the same pri've and less work.

How would an LS VTEC be any less work or cash?

He already has the B18 (less cash) it's already in the car (less work) "LS swapped 91 hatch" in 1st post.
Being that the car already had a decent bottom and (there's no mention of blowing it up yet) and a Vtec swap doesn't require pulling the engine, it's just 1 less step.

i hear the lsvtec and b20vtecs aren't as reliable and its street/strip build I know the h22a has shitty cylinder walls but they seem to make incredible torque and ive seen a few bolt on h22s lay down over 200whp
Well H2B is gonna be more expensive. LSV is a great motor set up and B20V is even better. Going H in an ef is almost like going k. A lot of extra steps need to be taken. Plus it's gonna be a process getting your stock hood closed. Oh yea and whoever told you LS or B20 Vtecs aren't reliable lied to you.
