4th gear is going out. Got a b16 in it and looking for a new tranny. What should I go with and where can I find one cheap? Found a b20 tranny. How different will it be? I still want it to be quick butaybe a little more top end speed

 

Or maybe even just change that sycro?..how hard is that?...I've built automatic transmissions before but never a manual...is it something I can just pull out and slide a new one in or do I have to disassemble the entries tranny?

 

well when you say your running a b16 motor in your first gen crx
you didnt type it wrong and mean d16 right?

if you are running a b series b16 are you running a cable trans or hydro?
i have a spare b series cable trans out of the 90-93 acura integra that im trying to get rid of for about 40 bucks

Yes its definitely a b series b16 dohc
And yes it's a cable tranny....not really sure what the deal is with that gear but...that tranny you have..have you ever ran it?..are all the gears good in it?....I mean can't really beat it for that cheap just don't want to tear out and put a new one in just to find out it's fucked too

i got two of them for 150 about a year or so ago
and i just picked one and i took it apart to reseal it and inspect it before i installed it in my civic
its in my build thread marcos's new work car 90 sedan

and the second trans the one im talking to you about i havent touched
i have no idea what kind of shape its in
ive never ran it or installed it
all i know is that the old owner said they both worked, but thats really not much to go on

texas is really far from me dude
you sure you cant find one at the junk yards down there?
