Default Air conditioner unreliable

I have a 2008 Honda CRV. I recently started having problems with the ac. It works perfectly well when first started. When the car is started, driven, turned off and the car is restarted the sir conditioner does not work. I had it checked by a non-Honda mechanic. He found a small fluid leak from a connection but no other problem after running a diagnostic test. He flushed and refilled the fluid. It worked fine for a few days and the same thing happened.

Did you have the leak repaired?

If it worked completely for a few days after your mechanic recharged the a/c system then works intermittently, it sounds like you have a leak.
Did he use an A/C machine for diagnostics? I have a couple at work... I've used the diagnostic test on my CRV, and it failed to detect the leak that i definitely have Hah. Technology.
