Default need help again....):

So ive got a ef civic with a b20/vtec (the vtec portion is not wired up atm) swap currently not running b20 is stock low compression, stock b16 head with stock cams. intake manifold is i believe obd0 b16 as is the throttle body. Injectors are prelude 345cc and i am using the resistor box.

Ive been able to get it started and running poorly with an obd0 pr4 ecu and obd2 distributor. It starts even though you have to try several times and it shows two codes from the ecu codes 4 and 8 for tdc and crank position, so i figured this is from trying to use an obd2 distributor with an obd0 ecu.

Also using this ecu and distributor for some reason my plugs are backwards, for example the stock honda firing order is 4321 as far as the head goes with 4 being closest to the distributor but mine only ran when i wired it as 1234 with 1 being closest to the distributor. Is this maybe a symptom of the issue im having? As ill describe further down in this post.

Once i got it running and everything i hooked up a p28 hondata s300 i bought new specifically for this build as i am intending to go boost in the future.
loaded it with a stock b20 calibration to just get the engine running and check other things.

When the engine is turned over i get fuel as you can smell it after trying to start the engine a few times. Ive taken the spark plugs out to verify and they are wet, But no start it just turns and turns and turns.

Ive tried different calibrations, tried switching spark plug wires around, i have 3 different distributors that ive tried, the obd2 fat plug distributor that fits the head unmodified and this one runs with the pr4 ecu (again poorly and with codes 4 and 8), i tried another known working one from a 98 crv that has one of the legs cut off of it, that one never worked with the obd0 ecu just back fired (tried switching plug wires around with this one as well didnt change anything) so i didnt try that much, and the obd1 td44u that fits unmodified, which is the current one im trying with the p28.

I have the harness wired for obd1 as far as the distributor plugs go, vehicle was already wired for mpfi before i bought it and it was working with the d16 that was in it.

All of this and the only code popping up in smanager is one for vtec when i use a vtec enabled calibration.

Im not looking for someone to come forward and say hey its this button press it and itll fix it, i know theres alot of variables here especially since i kinda pieced this engine together over the past few years, im just looking for a point in the right direction thatll maybe help me look at something i didnt think to look as.

Any help is much appreciated.
