Default 2000 Civic won't start

My son tried starting car the other morning as usual, and starter won't kick in. Lights and all power stuff works, battery connection good, but starter doesn't even click or anything. Almost like clutch switch is locking it out, but I'm not sure if there is anything else that could be holding it out. We checked for fault codes, and found none. Can anybody help with this??

Are there dark green/blue plastic bits in the footwell? It could be the pedal stopper/pad for the clutch interlock.

Good lead Outrun, thanks. Started looking around and found clutch arm was making contact with switch, pushed switch by hand, and it cranked right over....... Thanks again.....

Might want to get that fixed, probably can do so by simply replacing the clutch switch or adjusting the arm so it no longer contacts the switch.

It happened to me when driving from Wisconsin to California in the middle of Colorado somewhere. What I did was unplug the connector from the clutch interlock switch and used a paper clip to jump the other connector in the wire leading to the relay (I think that's where it leads to). You should be able to start the car.

However just be careful since you can now start the car without depressing the clutch pedal. Make sure you're in neutral!

Can just replace rubber stopper (dealer part) or jumper the clutch switch if desired to bypass clutch depression to start as Outrun stated. Mine is bypassed (previous owner) and I prefer it as I like starting in neutral gear, with e-brake engaged, without depressing clutch.

The dealer part is referred to as a pedal pad stopper and is white and harder (nylon maybe?) compared to the original dark green/blue color. They're $3 and change from the dealer.

$2.60 here:
