O'Reilly's Clutch Set
1997 Civic DX Coupe 200k miles
Clutch is pretty fried in my car so I went to O'Reillys and bought the OE clutch set, comes with the pilot bearing and throw out bearing and all that. Just wanna know if anyone else has used this clutch set and their thoughts on it. Have heard some mixed reviews so far. Car is stock so its probably only pushing 90ish hp so i'm hoping it lasts until I start to build the car. Its like the stock clutch so it shouldn't be any worse than the original right? Also where do I buy a input shaft bearing, and with the throw out and pilot bearings I have to buy the seals separately right?

There are no seals to buy for the clutch. The new throwout and pilot bearings have built in seals.
The input shaft bearing inside the transmission, best to buy from a dealer. Timken makes a set of all the bearings and seals for the transmission but that may be overkill. The bearing on the outside end of the input shaft is the weak point. It will wear out long before any of the rest.

It's a little hard for anyone to review something that they don't even know the brand of. O'Reilly's sells more than one brand of parts. You can get a new ISB straight from Honda, or you can get it from Synchrotech. You could also get the NTN part number and get it cheaper straight from the part manufacturer. The ISB is inside the transmission, and requires full disassembly to get to, so you might as well get a full kit (again, Synchrotech) and do a full overhaul while you're in there. Or just forget about the ISB if you aren't having issues. As for seals, you should go ahead and do the main seal while the flywheel is off. You should also take your flywheel to a local machine shop and have them turn it. If you don't, you risk damaging the new clutch and wasting the time and money you put into replacing it.
Technically there are two input shaft bearings, one at the clutch end of the shaft and one at the outside. The outside one gives the most trouble. The one in the Amazon link looks like the right one. If the transmission makes a significant whirring / grinding noise idling in neutral that goes away when you push the clutch in, it is probably that bearing. If you don't hear much noise idling in neutral you could leave it alone.

And as NotARaCist already stated, don't forget the rear main seal while the flywheel is off.

Check out my refresh thread; I dealt with the same issues that you're having. All is well now!

What is my tranny called? I've heard S20 and others like that. It's the original Y7 tranny but I just want to know what it's actually called, I couldn't find it on Wikipedia.
Does this kit come with the input shaft bearing as well or just the seal? Also, are there other seals I should buy alongside this?
EDIT: So other than what comes in the kit, would it be wise to buy axle seals, shifter seals, and the rear main seal? Other than those and what comes with the kit are there ANY other seals or parts I should buy? No gears grind so I don't think I need any new synchro's. My reverse has that double notch thing many people have but I don't really think that's a problem.

Google "TRKFH150". That is the kit I bought. It includes all the seals and all the major bearings for the ends of the shafts inside the transmission. It does not include any of the internal needle bearings, synchros, etc. Those rarely go bad.
Note that most sellers have a generic picture of a Timken rebuild kit that doesn't show the actual contents of the Civic kit.
