Default Rebuilt d15 minime turbo basemap?

Hello,
A friend has just rebuilt his d15 minime from a headgasket leak, and put a small turbo on it in the process. Fully stock internals. He goes to put the ecu that was used when it was last running and it starts and stalls right away.

He goes and puts a stock p28, and it does the same thing.

Now this is where it gets weird and boggles both our minds. He goes and puts a LS ecu in that is custom chipped for a high comp 85mm b20vtec, and it starts up fine and revs out, just super rich.

No idea how a custom high comp b20 ecu is running a 1.5 single cam, but just out of curiosity, we hooked up my hondata s300 to it.

I loaded a stock d15 base map (from smanager defaults), and it wouldn't start.
Loaded a stock d16z (p28) base map, and it wouldn't start.

Finally, loaded a stock b20 non vtec map, and it starts up, but shoots clouds of smoke out the exhaust, and barely idles at like 400 rpm.
I mess with the fuel maps a bit, and dropping about 40% of the fuel at idle finally gets it to idle nice at 750-800 rpms.

This doesn't make any sense to us. Non of the d15 or d16 maps work, but the b20 does, only with like 40% less fuel.

Looking for some advice on this. Waiting for the downpipe to get refitted as it was angled incorrectly and didn't clear the oil pan, so it has to be recut and welded before we put the wideband on to try and tune the fuel accurately, or at least see what the deal is.

Well, today it ran with the stock p28, but still not the preset tunes on the hondata.

Not sure what the deal is... The hondata ran fine on a turbo d16z6 with stock head, stock internals, using the same p28 map. I was even able to do a base tune with it, so I don't think the hondata or ecu is bad, unless it went bad transferring vehicles. I no longer have the car with the d16, so we don't have any other cars to test it on atm.

Any advice or suggestions?

fuel pressure and fuel injector size are going to have a MAJOR impact on what you're doing,or trying to do
