Can Pre-ignition result from lack of valve adjustment after changing timing belts?
to clarify something here; changing the timing belt has zero effect on valve lash.
to clarify something else: valve lash being too tight can cause preignition, if the exhaust side is too tight. because if the exhaust valves hang open at any time, the exiting flamefront can backfeed back into the cylinder igniting the incoming air/fuel mixture, especially in turbo applications where there is frequent positive pressure in the exhaust ports of the head.
