91 crx will crank but will not start, with the key off, the oil light will stay on verry dim. Started with just dying out at a stop, and restart was fine. Then it got harder to get it restarted. And now it just wont start.

Replaced

Ignition switch
Ignition coil
Spark plugs
Distributor cap

Please help

 

Was the oil light on before the car died?
If so, then check your oil level. Adding oil won't fix anything but it will prevent any further damage.

If you didn't run your engine low on oil, I would look into the fuel side of things since you already did most of the electrical stuff.
- Try swapping in a new fuel filter if that hasn't been done in a while, it's cheap and can be done by anyone.
- Then re-flow the solder joints in the MAIN RELAY or replace it.
- Last thing to do would be the fuel pump.

 

the problem seems like a dozen different other things that are easy to check than the things you replaced, but difficult to really help without playing 20 questions over the internet.

just take your car to a mechanic. could be something dumb like a bad battery.

 

Is the main relay the brown one under the drivers side thats hardish to get to? If not, where is it located? And its not a bad battery, its all but new. And i have a charger that i use when messing with the car. Going to re probe the destributor to make sure that its getting spark tonight.

 

Googled the main relay. Car came with one. Replaced it. The lights on the dash work as designed now and go completely off with the key.

Turns out the spare relay that came with the car is also faulty and not kicking the pump on going to pick one up and seeing what that does
