Hey guys, posted in the model specific forum but didn't have much luck. Really wondering about PP function and construction before I order new parts.

I have a b16a2 with GSR transmission. Bought the car not able to go into any gear while car is running.
Clutch pedal has good feel, no leaks from master or slave. Slave engaging shift fork.
Turn the car off, can shift easily into any gear.
Car off, put it into gear, clutch in, crank and car jerks forward.

I thought, pressure plate is bad.

So, tranny is out, and this is what I've found.


If you look at the pictures below, underneith the pressure plate to clutch disc surface there looks to be a rod circling the pressure plate teeth. This rod is broken. Would this cause a no shift situation??
All ACT parts.
Previous owner stated, in the middle of a drive, stopped at a light, went to go into gear, and nothing. So if he's truthful, sudden catastrophic failure.

severely worn, get an Exedy kit from rockauto, you can even get a new flywheel if yours is worn

 

Damn you got a heavy foot, hehe. The pressure plate is worn, for the cost, get a new clutch kit. I too would reccomend an Exedy Stage 1 kit (clutch and pressure plate) as that's what Honda uses for its OEM clutch most of the time. Also feel free to post a pic of your flywheel, if this is what the PP looks like you may need the flywheel resurfaced or replaced.

 

If you plan on beating on the car at all I would steer clear of the Exedy, they are notorious for popping springs out of the disc. Action, Spec and Comp are the only brands I feel comfortable recommending.
