Default Trans suddenly stopped engaging

My 2000 civic ex coupe has never had its clutch/pressure plate/flywheel changed and everything worked fine until i started it today and the car won't go into gear at all. You can hear the gears changing when you row through them with the clutch depressed but i don't know why it suddenly stopped working altogether when there were no problems before. Anyone know what specifically could be the problem?

So if you put the car in first gear and rev it, it acts like it's in neutral?

Not really sure what it could be right now, but I'd start by making sure your clutch reservoir fluid is fine and that when you depress the clutch pedal that the fork is moving properly. Maybe the pressure plate isn't engaging correctly?

Does the speedometer go up when you put it in gear and try to move? If it does, that means the clutch and transmission are working; it's an axle problem.

Found out that the problem wasn't with the transmission, jackshaft snapped.
