Default B20B Oil Pump

i have looked and couldn't find any specific info.
I got ajdm b20from the depot, p3f pistons, lower comp. they told me to change the oil pump before dropping it in because its jdm.
It's going in a EG.
What is the big deal running a jdm oil pump?

Absolutely nothing, although a new pump wouldn't be a bad idea for insurance reasons I guess.

I have the head off and doing the head gasket.
apparently its under 60k miles. I don't think I'm going to replace it. I was just curious as to why they told me to change it, and it was really holding me up.
I appreciate the reaponse
