Default Z0831xiz's 01' ITR High-Compression Longblock Progress Build

So about 2 years ago i picked up a Bare block from a 01' ITR and well thats when i started my engine build. I decided to make it a all motor setup, high compression semi-stroked everything for the engine has been bought new & machined from decking block to rotating assembly balance & fresh resurface on the head freshly seated valves with new seals.
Almost all the parts are finished being purchased & ill be done with it but im currently not able to decide on what cams to use 😕😕 and was wonder what others can recommend me from experiance & not from a friends cousins friend brother friend type thing.. personal experience. Im stuck between useing skunk2 Tuner 2 cams or skunk2 tuner 3 cams but im open to hearing other options & opinions about what cam i should/could use for best output power along with why i shouldnt use ect. My engine setup is 81x89 12.5:1 compression Cp pistons with Bc LW H beam rods with a OEM thickness headgasket golden eagle Block gaurd and a jdm ITR head stock ITR valves skunk2 alpha dual valve springs & retainers along, header will Mugen 4-1 & 70mm TB with ITR intake

I know you asked for personal experience, but I know several people on here with around your compression have had great results with Skunk2 Pro 2 cams. I don't have experience with those, so I don't know how much the info is worth, but I'm sure a few people with those cams can share their experiences.

Ive been recommend tuner 3 & pro 1's for my setup due to the high compression but im also told the cams will be to big for my small dosplacement & well some even saying tuner 2 is best or just right. I have stock ITR cams but there to small for what i have. Dyno numbers & graph would help with a parts list if your refering a friends setup

try pro2 over tuner 3 or even tuner 2 cams. yes type r cams may be a bit small for what you have but would offer nice midrange.

Why pro 2 cams, Have you tried that before on all motor? I need reasons as to why you think itll work best dont want to get a cam that wont benifit at all.

My tuner has tried them also, another friend here named Slowsleeper has made 240 on them on his 1.8L with ported head.

I made 222whp with tuner2's on a b20vtec with similar compression. I think tuner2 or pro1 would be good..pro2 might be a bit much for a 1.8L imo

What size injectors? My setup is similar to yours only 81mm bore instead of 84.5 you think tuner 3 would be to big of a cam?

can you explain in detail how pro 2 would be too much for a 1.8L??

What cam would you recommend for a 2.1 liter B series motor at 13:1 compression with a ported head and custom header?

Pro 3 or custom set. I have two or possibly three sets of my own custom camshafts.

90% of people on this forum overcam their engines, and I'm sick of people throwing Pro 2s at every thread in the all motor forum like their some magical cam... I've seen them beat out by Buddy Club 3s, so I personally am not as impressed as some of you. I know cams that make more peak power, and cams that will make more midrange, they're really not all that great. Most guys end up with 200-220whp which was being done in 2002 just fine.

Yes they can make power, but I do not think a 1.8 with mid-to-high compression and weak supporting mods is a key candidate for Pro 2s.

Something tells me there's a lot more going on in that engine. Build list please. Also dyno sheets if possible.
