So, I've replaced my rusty b-pipe, muffler, and got a new catalytic converter. Got new spring bolts and gaskets from front of cat to muffler. The only thing is I've gone through 3 sets of spring bolts because they keep stripping when I tighten them down. Driving it, I keep hearing a buzzing and rattling in the exhaust so I go to tighten the spring bolts a little more and boom...stripped. I'm using just the regular donut exhaust gasket that fits a standard 2' exhaust. Any recommendations on a quality set of spring bolts?

 

Just reuse the springs, and got get some grade 8 or grade 10 nuts, bolts and washers

 

Okay, never thought of doing that. Can you enlighten me a little more on what those are? I assume they're just much stronger bolts.

 

You should be able to get them at any farm store, Theisens, fleet farm, or even any auto parts store. Yes they are just stronger, typically used for chassis and exhaust bolts.
