EJ6, EJ8 Suspension Compatability?
Hello, I am in the process of replacing some blown out coilovers on my 00 EJ8. I was planning on replacing them with the OEM shocks from my 99 EJ6, but as i was trying to fit them, they seemed to be too long. they go in and out of my 99 no problem, but when i try to fit them in the 00 its like i would have to pull the lower control arm way down to get the bolt in. I called the honda dealership to see if they were the same part, and he told me they were not. so i ordered some new shocks online, but when i searched for them for both cars, the same parts came up. These are the shocks i ordered:
More Information for FCS 1336337L
Should i have just forced them in? Did i just waste my money on the same struts that are currently on my 99? Thanks for your input

Yes.
Yes.
The coilovers you removed are going to be a little shorter because they're coilovers so the bushings are currently oriented that way. Simply pry the arm down. Ideally loosen the bolts and then tighten them again with the car sitting on the ground or on ramps.
Dimensionally all OEM '96 - '00 shocks are identical. Part numbers will differ though as some are stiffer than others depending on what chassis/trim level they were to go on. Usually the aftermarket ones are all the same for '96 - '00 regardless of body type or trim level.
