2000 Honda Civic Climate Control lights not working
Hi,
Does someone have the instructions on how to replace the Climate Control **** light bulbs in a 2000 Honda Civic? I think there are just two bulbs.
Thanks
Re: 2000 Honda Civic Climate Control lights not working
Yes I have googled it, but I've only found information for the 1998 and the 2000 dash has changed. The instructions to remove the center console for the 1998 looks very involved and I'm hoping the instructions for the 2000 are easier.
If anyone has any info on how to remove the center console of the dash to replace the climate control bulbs I'd appreciate it. Based on my google research there are two 5mm bulbs (not sure of the voltage) that illuminate the 3 climate control *****.
Thanks.

Its kinda of a pain, but its easy, just a bunch of screws. its basically the same as the previous model. you need to remove all the plastic covers underneath to get to the bolts that hold the climate control / stereo setup in place.
here's a link on how to if you need help. after you get the dash out, and wires unplugged, the climate control ***** can be pulled out. be careful to not break the clips when changing the bulbs.
Re: 2000 Honda Civic Climate Control lights not working
Hey thanks a lot! These instructions are great! Do you know of any information or photos showing where the climate control light bulbs can be accessed from. For example, does the center console have to come completely out of the dash to change them out?
Also, do you know the bulb part numbers or specs and if there are any good after market replacements?
Thanks again.
Re: 2000 Honda Civic Climate Control lights not working
Yeah I actually just replaced my entire dash with one from the junkyard since some of my vent fins were cracked and broke when I was cleaning them lol. I have one in my garage. give me a min and i'll post some pics
Re: 2000 Honda Civic Climate Control lights not working
after you get the entire dash out. this piece should slide right out. side view. you DO NOT need to remove the grey piece in the back. but you can if you want ( I did ) just use a phillips head and take the screws out screws in the back use a flat head screw driver and push up on the black tabs to get it over the clipped part. use a little force to pull the back piece off. its on there pretty snug. you can see the bulbs on the inside, blue plastic piece behind the clear part. use a flathead screwdriver to gently twist the bulb, then pull it out this is the full bulb assembly. do not try to pull it apart.
New ones you order or buy should look just like this. put it in the hole. twist it back in to lock it in position. and put back together.
Part number is listed on the website. order it online or maybe autozone or advance auto sells them.
Or you can always go to the junkyard, take a junk cars dash apart and take those bulbs haha
Re: 2000 Honda Civic Climate Control lights not working
I think you are right. I don't think you need to disassemble the front fascia, or the ***** from the Climate Control module. Once the base of the bulbs are accessible just unscrew them.
I'm wondering though, can you access the bulbs if the radio and the lower storage bin is removed from the Center Console? If this is the case, then you may not even have to remove the Center Console or the Climate Control module (.e.g. just remove the radio and storage bin to gain access to the bulbs).
Any thoughts?
1 3mm bulb for the hazard switch
2 4mm for the A/C and defrost buttons
2 5mm for the climate control
Apparently you can just take out the radio. still need to take the plastic cover off though.
These are not my pictures, but those are all the bulbs from the dash. just need 5. the replacement LEDs are in front , stock in back.
I also have LEDs in my gauge cluster and I love it. much brighter and better looking than stock lights. and you can pick whatever color you want. I like the natural white.

Thanks for this, I didn't want to modify it and use the Amazon ****. You giving the sizes really helped and I ordered them today.
I'm not sure if it changed since your purchase but those bulbs only have a 3 year warranty if you buy them today. For the price though, 3 years is cool. Hopefully they last more like 10 years though. I know that's a good company for led's but I've never bought from them because it always seemed so expensive. I guess you get what you pay for though.
