1997 Civic EX Cruise Control Problem - Light in dash on but "SET" doesnt engage
Good Morning,
I have a 1997 honda civic ex with 200,000 miles on it. It has the original engine. I have had the car for a year now and havent been able to get the cruise control to work. I have seen other posts on this, but not exactly my issue. When i press the cruise button on the dash the light comes on. When i press the set button on the steering wheel, nothing happens. When i press either the brake or the clutch pedal, i see the cruise light on the dash go out. I am under the impression that both the clutch and brake pedal stop switches are working because the light immediately goes out upon pressing either pedal. I have also tried the lift up on both pedale while pressing the cruise set button, but no cruise. I am wondering if there is a way to test the cruise control servo to make sure it is functioning properly. Everything under the hood looks factory. I will also verify that all of the vacuum hoses are indeed hooked up and working. Any help on this issue will be very helpful, as i drive a lot of miles on the freeway (30,000-40,000 miles a year). Thanks!!!

I took my car to a friend who owns a mechanic shop in town. I needed to have my ac recharged. While I was there I told him my Cruise Control wasn't working. He looked it over and made sure all the buttons and pedals were working. After that, he looked at the vacuum line that hooks up to the bottom of the intake and found that it came off. After plugging it back in the Cruise control is working perfectly! Hope this helps someone else out there!!!
