AEM series 1 newb
I was given a AEM series 1 (30-1000).
I figured if I could get a handle on it I would get series 2. I printed and tried to read the v2.0 user manual. I purchased a conversion harness. Plugged it into my 2000 civic dx (d16y7). Opened the start-up wizard selected 92-95 civic. Set the throttle and then tried to *set the ignition. I gave up trying to get my head around the set ignition for now and tried to figure why it wouldn't idle. It would just fire then immediately die. I then looked up what base idle or what the red mark on the crank pulley was and realized the d16y7 idles at 12degrees*** not 16 like the 92-95 civic.
I adjusted the timing in the timing map to 12 degrees all around where the (follow ecu highlighted) and boom. It would now idle for a few seconds then die.
I then decided because of no fuel smell it was to lean. I added some fuel to the fuel map and now it idles great. Of course until it starts to warm up. It slowly began to idle higher as it got warmer. It also has a little surge hiccup to it. I decided I may be going about this the wrong way.
I opened the warm up enrichment and played with those values following it all the way to warm still idling high and surging a bit.
So... Now im going back to reading more. Any help appreciated.
