Default P28-A51 w/Manual Trans?

I bought a P28 off of ebay and the description said...

"This obd-1 VTEC ecu will run your engine in your Civic or Integra with manual transmission and VTEC. This auction is for a stock unchipped P28 ecu."

Everything that I've seen online says that an A51 ecu is a US version automatic version 1 ecu. I plan to send this to Hondata to get chipped for S300 to use on my OBD2 to 1 converted Integra 5-speed manual. Am I missing something or does this ECU need to be returned because it's for an automatic and not actually a manual like the auction described?

It will work... it will have to be converted to manual function to keep from throwing transmission related codes, but this is no big deal for a quality shop. You cannot send your ECU directly to Hondata... you must use one of their dealers to handle the transaction.

It is sooooo easy to convert an auto to manual. I just recently did this as well. If I can do it, anybody can!!

This isn't a full on how-to, but a good shot of the location you need to modify. When you pull the cover off your ECU, looking from the top with the plug end to the left, there is a row of resistors on the lower right corner to the left of the baro sensor underneath the marked spot "27256" or your chip (if you have one). You're looking for R17 and R18 resistors. Counting from the first resistor to the left, they will be #5 and #6 in the row.
I suggest desoldering R18 since you will need to jump that one.
Anyhow, desolder and remove the R17 and R18 resistors. R18 will need a 0 ohm resistor, or you can use a small paperclip or tiny piece of copper wire I believe 24g will fit fine. Solder your jumper into that spot and done; no more error code 19.
I use this ECU as a backup in case of whatever. I have been running it on my D15B7 5 speed now for a week with ZERO issues other than cel code 22. I gottie no VTEC so yeah, it's gonna be pissy but it runs great.
