Does it matter if OBDI ecu is auto or manual?
I need to get a p28 or p72 ecu for my hondata setup, does it matter if the ecu I buy is for a automatic or manual car? Anything I need to worry about when I buy this ecu>

P72 only comes in manual...
P28 comes in both, it shouldn't matter which one you get, they all will be written over anyway...

I don't know why you'd want to swap out the computer and hold off on hondata, that won't really do anything for you?? Check out http://www.hondata.com they cover what ecu swaps will work for your car.

the auto and manual ecu are not the same, you wil have to change and ad some parts to convert to manual

on the installation page on http://www.hondata.com
it looks like you simply need to jumper 2 pins together, and remove one jumper to convert from auto to manual.

Does the auto ecu have different fuel maps, timing curve, etc.. than the manual ecu? I have a LS swap in my eg and am running the '94 automatic ls ecu. Am i loosing power? Should i switch to the manual ecu?

The only issues are...
...Full throttle shift and launch control is disabled on automatic ECUs.
That and you will have to "convert" an AT ECU to MT specs. But it's easy and Hondata has instructions (remove and replace a few resistors).
Also, obviously the P28 will not support any knock sensor functions, whereas the P72 will.

I believe that the factory knock sensor is pretty much worthless on a turbo car anyway right?
