Default No third brake light?

So I finally got around to removing the stock spoiler off my 99 EX. I welded up the holes, used some body filler and refinished the trunk lid. Then I went to go make sure that the interior 3rd brake was working ( since I removed the spoiler that had the brake light ). Turns out there is no bulb in there, no additional wiring, or any parts for the interior 3rd brake light. Is it suppose to be like this since there was a brake light in the spoiler? Just dont feel like giving the police another reason to pull me over lol

Run two wires from the existing spoiler brake light and extend it to 3rd brake light location. Head to your local salvage yard and pick up a complete 3rd brake light housing with factory wiring and connectors. Solder all connections and test operations. It's not that hard.

x2

You could scavenge the plug for the third light pretty easily as there are a ton of coupes/sedans and they all share the one.

Grabbed this off a civic at the junkyard

Disconnected wire from spoiler

So green to green and black to black right? What is the name for those things at the end of the spoiler wiring? Can I / should I re-use them? Or just clip the wires and connect them? Sorry my electrical knowledge is no where near as good as my mechanical

I would think Honda would have the wiring in place on all models. My 97 Integra LS had the wiring for a 3rd brake light even with an OEM spoiler.

YES. Cut off the connector ends and solder the wires (and cover with heatshrink tubing) accordingly. The wires are 22awg if I'm not mistaken but you can use 18awg to extend the wires.

Those are called bullet connectors. You can buy them at any parts store.
