Which skunk2 Tuner Series Cam to use for BW257SXE? Tuner1 or Tuner2?
i need help once again from the guys with experience,i'm almost done with the build. i have some new manly rods with 84mm cp pistons 9.1 compression ratio, and also have a new borgwarner s257sxe. going to use gsr crank and upgraded springs . i'm at the point where i'm trying to decide what cams i should buy,i was thinking skunk2 tuner series stage 2 or 1, not to sure, want to get closest ones to oem integra type r. the goal is to be at 450 hp 500 max!
yeah just don't want to take all the reliability away that's why i'm shooting for those number and i'm on a sleeved block...do you happen to know which one of the skunk2s are like the itr cams? cuz i been reading and says i need to upgrade valves if i go with stage 2 and i wanted to use my stock gsr valves
the 2 from what I read and been told that's why I got them. and oh ok true at 600 u will be fine I been fine at that with a block guard now going with a sleeved one
No. Stick with the Tuner Stage 1 please. Especially for that size turbocharger. Those running the stage 2 will need to readjust their cam gears to dial out additional valve overlap anyway.
ok so i will be sticking with the skunk2 tuner series stage 1..thanks for the help guys much appreciated,will be ordering those today's then all i need is little stuff water pump,spring etc. i'm sure i'll be on here again asking for help lol almost don't tho, then car going to paint shop

That is not correct. It is slightly larger than the capabilities of the 00-01 ITR / CTR camshaft. Similar to the Edlebrock 4730 camshaft. Still C.A.R.B legal, but it is not identical to a Type R profile. So the word "copy" is not correctly used in this case.
Thats fair. I didnt intend to imply that the lift and duration specs are identical, i was saying that, per the OP's question, tuner 1s are closer to the ITRs than tuner 2s.
Tuner 1's or ITR's are the proven candidates for your type of setup. The GSC T1's are another option but may need a bit more turbo to be really effective (this is a point of debate though).
Unlike the Pro1s, GSCT1s can work with most turbos that are anywhere from 41lbs/min-80lbs/min. So, if he wants to, he can use those as well.
yeah so i already ordered the skunk2 tuner 1's... almost have everything to build the motor back up..only need a couple small things..springs water pump etc
