Default Quick question *motor compatibility

I need another motor for my cb7. I have to replace the block on my stock f22a4. I'm going to be pulling my replacement from the junkyard. my question is what is the newest year car I can pull from. year of the car doesn't mean the engine will be any good. I got that.

u have a lot more to worry about since u live in CA u got Smog and laws u have to follow with engine swaps any H or F engine will bolt up but sense u have to use a engine from a new year then yours try for the f22b1 from USDM 1994-1997 Honda Accord EX its a vtec engine so take the ecu when u take the engine that's ofc if u don't have a tune able ECU hope u fine the right engine for your car

If you only need the short block(no head) then 90-97 Accord F22 engines will work. Only difference IIRC is that the B1(VTEC) block will need the VTEC oil feed gallery to be plugged for the non-VTEC head.

Nice thanks. I have an a4 with a spun bearing. I think my plan is to build a motor. f22a or f22b block with f22a6 head+ecu and h22 intake and exhaust. with a setup like that what ecu options do I have? I don't think I have many. the original pt6 p28 or teg LS pr74 or 75.

Also like I said I spun a bearing. I'm almost certain. I didn't throw any rods. do y'all think it's would be OK to rebuild the original block?

It's hard to say if it would be worth rebuilding without knowing the extent of the damage that caused the bearing to slip.

Yes I'll have to take it out and let the machine shop decide.
