Clutch grabby takeup in 1st on 2000 Accord
My 2000 Accord 2.3 VTEC started acting grabby (juddering is something else I've seen it called) when taking off in 1st gear after work on friday. This was new, but it was okay halfway through my 30 mile drive home.
It did the same thing again when I drove it yesterday, started out really grabby and got much better as I drove.
I have service records going back 10 years with the car, bought it from the original owner, an aeronautical engineer. He bought a new Honda to replace it.
Car had 167,000 on it when we got it, has 172,000 now.
Clutch assembly including slave cylinder was done in December 2014 at 148,000, flywheel was resurfaced at that time.
Clutch slave cylinder was done again in February of 2015 at 152,000.
Everything the PO owned was a manual transmission, it appears he got almost 150k miles out of the first clutch, so I'm thinking it's not him. Everything else I own is a manual transmission (Dodge Cummins truck, MK5 Jetta) and I've been driving manual transmissions for 40 years and have never lost a clutch so I'm pretty sure it's not me.
Is there anything else that can be at fault here other than the clutch hardware that has been already replaced? Maybe the resurfaced flywheel breaking down?
Thanks!
Joe
