Swapping non vvti f23a to vvti f23a! Help!!
Hey everyone,
I just purchased a Honda Accord 2001, with a blown f23a-5 engine (non vvti). Unfortunately it seems that only f23a-1 (vvti) engines are available. Has anyone here done this swap?? I want to know how hard it will be and if any rewiring ect is required. Any advice will be helpful! Just looking to have a running car with not an extreme amount of work required ahaahah

You will need the VTEC (vvti) ECU and you will have to run the appropriate wires for the VTEC solenoid. If I remember correctly there is only 1 wire that needs to be run to the ECU for the F23A1 VTEC solenoid.
Other than that, they are plug and play.
or if you don't want to buy an ECU and run the wire. You could take more time and swap your non VTEC head and oil control orifice onto a VTEC block. That is if you didn't blow the head.
