Ok so I just traded a 91 SI Hatch to come kids for a 95 coupe. Now it has a D16y7 swap which if I'm correct comes out of a 96-99 civic? So it has some funny issues. Like doesn't want to rev past 5 grand or a little more and I think has a bad tps and a few other weird things wrong with it. Well I took a look at the ecu and it says p06-a02 now I think that's the stock ecu for the stock motor? Is that the reason my car acts the way it does? And what ecu should I actually have in it? I'm not sure what head it has or how to check it. But as far as I can tell it's a non v-tech.

 

ECU code for a D16Y7 is P2E. What makes you think the TPS is bad? You can find the code for the short block right above the headers. It varies by engine so just look around.

 

The idle pulses. And for me to put a p2e on a OBD1 I'll need a harness adapter won't I?

 

p06= obd1 non vtec d15 ecu. it will run that engine, but it sounds like youre in limp mode. time to run cels.
