Default LS Distributor ?s

So I am installing a 95 LS motor into an 01 . I swapped the harness but the distributor wont work I need to use the 2 plug distributor but the larger of the 2 plugs is different. What can I do is there another distributor I need? a different harness ? I am not a mechanic so please keep it in layman's terms
Thanks

IIRC the distributors are identical but have different plugs. Depin both distributors and change out the plugs, there is info out there on how to convert them you just need to search for it, or just use the original distributor.

Check the cap+rotor, it's 3 star screws to remove on the outside, the next thing is make sure the key that sits in the cam isn't 180* out. Simply unbolt the unit, then turn the key exactly 180* and put it back, if it's not going back in after that turn it back, but it's easy to switch up if the key is worn down. I'd bet on the cap+ rotor tho, if it plugs in fine it would work, unless you messed up the wires from their firing order. Make sure everything else is hooked up properly tho, you said you were swapping it in, it's easy to miss something.
