hi first post ..not my car the wifes
the aircon clutch does not go on..relay checks out ok ..clutch works if you power it directly
problem seems to be the pressure switch on the thing that has the sight glass on it (sorry not a aircon tech..electronics guy by trade lol so dont know the tech term fr the device )
when i jumper the pressure switch on this device both the engine rad fan and aircon rad fan come on and the clutch engages..hot day here and car idling in drive to bring temp up aircon switch on heater blowing on cold (however the air does not get cooler with aircon on so suspect no gas in aircon system)
question if there is no gas in the system will this prevent the aircon clutch engaging ? (and seemly the rad fans)?
i see nothing in the sight glass..not sure what i am meant to see there TBH
i have a feeling there is no aircon gas..would this produce the symptom
the engine rad fan i would of thought would be on a temp switch from the coolant hose or rad tank..
in the time we have owned the car it has not overheated and honestly cant even say its ever switched on the engine rad fan
please help
excuse me for not knowing alot about aircon..my ride is pre aircon and never had a car with it in..yeah i am that old
The pressure switch will shut off compressor to protect it when pressure is too high and or too low. Don't jumper the switch too long because it can damage the compressor. A Mechanic would probably first check by recovering and weighing the refrigerant to make sure it is within specification. My guess is that you have a leak and your refrigerant is low.
hmm thats what i am thinking too as far as the a/c clutch goes.
will get the a/c guys to check it..humid weather here and its a blessing
just need to keep a eye on whether the engine rad fan actually operates when the engine is hot..its something we didn't notice in our travels ...wife does not look at temp gauge

Hey Firenza. Funny that I also got a GA3 just today. Air con not kicking in when I turn it on so I'm first trying to look for the relay but I can't seem to find the relay box anywhere in the engine bay which is different to all other Honda I've owned. Can you kindly direct me to the right area? It's not the plug thing on the right hand side of the wall by the headlights is it ? Thanks
Looks like you leaked out your refrigerant. You can test for continuity at the ac pressure switch. No continuity means you're out and need to find the leak and fix it. then vacuum the system for about an hour after replacing the receiver/drier, check that it's holding vacuum, then recharge to spec.
yes looks like the case ...hardly worth getting fixed
@TakiTag does your engine fan (for the engine RAD ) work as it should?
yes looks like you are out of gas...
thinking back when we got the rocket the aircon rad was out of its mounts just sitting there and i remounted it correctly..maybe the pipe broke with it flapping round..oh well no aircon ..bugger
