Hi folks,

A weird problem has started recently with my 1998 DC1 Integra. I was driving home one night when the headlights began dimming and brightening up and it sounded like a relay was clicking along with it under the steering wheel. It happens now perhaps 70% of the time that I drive at night so I try to avoid that until I can fix this problem. I have searched online and can't seem to find any similar incidents. I had heard that it could be a battery so I bought a new battery but that hasn't helped either. Would it be the relay causing this? If so, which one? Or is it something else entirely? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the headlight wiring to be sure you have no shorts? No HID's installed I assume?

 

Cheers for the reply Solomon, I checked the bulbs and they're just normal bulbs. I am trying to get a chance to leave it in with my mechanic to get his opinion but I'm kinda busy with work.

 

Id likely start with checking the alternator, belt, and especially crank pulley! I know on my 91, I was getting a weak charge, even with a new alternator and battery. Didn't realize until almost a year later (new batt and alt were keeping it running with really no problem) that my crank pulley was so worn out, I could turn the in
ner ring separately from the ac/ps pump pulley!
