Default ELECTRICAL ISSUES

how do i find out where the problem starts? dash lights dont work, over headlight dont work.all the lights outside my car work tho. the man who sold it to me said get a standard blower control switch to get the heat going again, said it fried looked like it melted the plastic a little. i connected it to the back of the climate ac/heat temp control switch plugged it all in and nothing worked no air at all started blowing threw. where do i start??

What year car and which car? Start with checking fuses. Stock stereo or after-market? I had issues after a aftermarket stereo was installed. Lost my illumination lights.
