Emission compliant boosted F22B2
Once my Accord has served its purpose of being my DD, I plan on throwing boost at it to hurt a lot of feelings. Who wouldn't feel like **** when their car gets drug by a dumpy Accord wagon?
But it just hit me that I will still need to pass an emission test in Arizona. How do people fool the testing equipment?
This all might be for not, as they pop the hood to check the engine bay out. If there's a turbo sitting there, I might not pass anyways.
This is just food for thought for now. I won't be doing any work for at least six months. But if it's impossible, I'll just let the idea go. And build an all motor car to accomplish my goals.

It's likely they just put it back to stock to test it. They can impound your car for modified emissions on a public road so keep that in mind, especially if you get caught racing it.
I have tuned a couple boosted Civics that passed a sniffer test. A visual on the other hand is a no go, unless the ref is completely blind.
You can tune a boosted engine to run just as efficient as an NA car out of boost. Even when in low boost RPM you can keep the AFRs lean for emissions. A must is a good catalytic converter, the cheaper high flow ones don't work when it comes to compliance. If the need be, you could run a separate tune for the test.

It's all about combustion efficiency and proper catalyst for excessive exhaust hydrocarbons and keeping the exhaust temps right. If you can lower or remove boost pressure and run a stock MAP you should pass an emissions sniffer. Still not going to pass a visual though.
