1990 Accord - New Fuel Pump but NO Fuel Pressure
I had a crank no start w/ compression & spark. The relay is fine for I can hear the pump at key turn. I replace the pump with a delphi from autozone after determining it was bad. I replace the fuel filter as well.
So, I go to start it up after the labor (pain in *** because of pump location) and nothing has changed. I hear the pump engaging at key turn so it's getting power. I check under the hood and there is no fuel pressure. The lines seem to have filled so there is some fuel dripping but barely any pressure at all.
What's the deal?
Thanks

Just to clarify, before the pump was replaced, could you still hear the old pump when the Main Relay turned on?
If so then it may not have been a pump problem.
Did you clean out hte gas tank when replacing the old pump or did you just remove/replace the pump?
Did you replace the pump as an assembly(hanger/pump/sock) or did you just replace the motor(pump)?
Is there gas in the tank?
Remove the gas cap and see if pressure increases/appears. If so then there is a problem with the EVAP(vent) system of the fuel system. Flooded charcoal canister, stuck EVAP valve, clogged vent hose.

Hi, thanks for the reply. The pump stopped making noise with the good relay. I didn't clean the inside of the tank but it looked to be pretty clean (inspected best I could with flashlight). And yes, I replaced all pump components. There is about 3-4 gallons in tank, which is pretty low, so I could fill it and see what happens. Haven't tried the gas cap thing, but I'll give that a shot. When I was replacing the fuel filter, I did break the plastic cap on the purge canister while removing a hose - went to local junkyard and replaced it.
I disconnected the high pressure fuel line at the fuel filter (incoming flow directly from tank) and when I prime the pump I get nothing, so I'm assuming it's an issue somewhere behind that point. That's what leads me to believe it isn't a problem with anything under the hood, but I could definitely be wrong. So, any light shed on this problem would be very helpful. Thanks again for the response and let me know if this gives you any more ideas to what could be wrong.
