Mugen and Spoon clusters, especially the Spoon cluster, are among the most sought after parts for ek owners who are into the JDM scenes. Unfortunately these two magnificent pieces have been victimized as counterfeited parts as well for obvious reasons.

The clusters in these pictures are counterfeits, I don't have other pictures but just wanted to give a headsup to those who are into buying these clusters. Do check the parts properly before paying somebody for easy money. It's been said that some individual/company are making the face plate of the spoon and mugen so that you can swap the face plates to make these clusters.

Here are some close-up pictures that I gather from the individual who is selling these. I've sold my mugen cluster many years back, so I don't have one to do side by side comparison. I'd be greatly appreciated if those who still have the real deal, put a series of side by side comparison pictures with the same angle as these counterfeits.

I'm sure that the existence of these knockoffs hurt the genuine part owners, it's sad but do keep an eye on these for those who are looking into getting one.

The EK Spoon one is easy to tell, the font is way off.


That Mugen one is pretty good doe.

 

Why the hell would someone deliberately buy overlays that would render their RPM and MPH completely inaccurate?
"How fast are you going?"
"I dunno, but don't these gauges look cool?"

"No it's really somewhere between 6-8k, I can't really tell...but don't these gauges look cool!?"

 

spoon fonts are not exact the sames and red and yellow colors on rpms are faded.
