why does my car start at 2500 rpm on cold start?
its part of the program in the ecu to help the engine warm up faster and keep it running on those cold starts
Tighten your idle adjustment screw. When the engine is at "normal" operating temp. then adjust your idle screw to the 700+/- 50 rpm. Then recheck when the engine is cold again. Then if you still have a idle above 2000 rpm, it's either your "fast idle thermal valve" or it could be your ambient temp. What's the outside ambient air temp. when you have your high fast cold start idle? If you want to check your fast idle thermal valve, remove the air intake, and slowly start to close off the hole inside the throttle body. It's the bottom one of the side with two, you can open the cover for it and there will be a white plastic tube you can thread in, sometimes they get loose and fall out completely.
