Default cold idle

is a cold idle step-up valve really needed? it is there just to get the engine hot as soon as possible for all the emission devices (like the cat) to start functioning?

Default Re: cold idle (95CivicSi)

Personally, no. Mine idles at 1500 from a cold start..... I usually am at operating temp in about a mile and a half... Just let the engine idle for about a minute before touching the pedal, you'll be okay
