My father bracket races his 95 Civic DX Automatic and does pretty well. The car runs 17.2 with I/H/E. Not impressive but he is very consistant. We are trying to get the car a bit quicker with the Auto trans wth the 1.5L, How dependable would the engine and trans hold up to the Greddy Turbo kit for the 92-95 civic EX? Im guessing it would run mid 15's about with the 5 pounds of boost, which is fine for him. I just dont know how well the trans and 1.5L will hold up. If anyone has any info about this please let me know, thanks!

It should handel it very welll with that mild amount of boost. just make sure the clutch is in good. or better yet upgraded. There is an article in the SCC magazine about them building and Tubo CRX for drag with an auto tran. I havent got the chance to read it yet. but it sounds interesting and i bet has some good info.

 

Wouldnt have to worry about clutch for the auto trannies. I have heard that the auto trannies for hondas suck when they start getting power. They start breaking fast. Not sure if its true or not but..

 

Go to the FI forum. Guy over there has an auto LS teg thats in the low 14s with a turbo setup, but i cant remember his name immediately.

 

eric ever think about a mini me???? using a ex exu and head intake manifold then a turbo can be considered the z6 head is very good for anything FI
