Just take a small hammer and just tap it counterclock wise to try to get it to twist. Sometimes my oil cap gets really snug as well.

I prefer using a rag and my channel lock pliers if my cap gets stuck like that.

I just smash a hole in my valve cover with a 3 pound sledge and add oil that way. In before the lock, lol.

Wait for it to cool. That's when you should be checking it anyway. Mine gets super tight when hot.

Nah, wouldn't lock the thread for this post. Just delete your post for bad technical advise and the relatively high amount of people who would try this and wonder why things went sideways.....

W95 comes to mind as someone who, of all the possible solutions in this thread, would use his method.

I had a Boxer/Mastiff named Snowden and I named my boat Catch-22. You have to be crazy to be a bomber pilot, but if you are crazy, you cant be a bomber pilot.

Rag, Vise wrench and a 3 foot steel pipe.

put rag over the cap, fit vise wrench over skinny part of cap with very slight pressure when it closes, take steel pipe and put one side of the handle into one end of the pipe. use the leverage in small jolts to free it.
