I think my oil filler cap might be bad. The valve cover area around the filler cap is often moist with oil, and I'm pretty sure it's not from the valve cover gasket area. Has anyone ever had a oil cap go bad on them before? (The threads on the oil cap itself looks fine)

nope i havent heard of this problem before.

repalce the oil cap see it it continues.

The gasket on the oil cap of my 91 Civic LX started letting oil pass at around 14 years, 165k miles. Pry it out. Put a new one in. Available at bkhondaparts.com and similar places. E.g. part #5 at

Would any generic oil cap from Autozone or Kragen's suffice?

yeah it should be fine. is there oil around the cap wen its off or around the hole when u take the cap off?
