I have a 97 honda civic ex when I turn the heat on it does nothing weather it's on ac or heat any suggestions would be great or simple checks before I go replace the blower motor

edit I also realized no lights come on, on the controls

 

Are you saying the cabin blower doesn't work? If so, check the two blower fuses.

 

yes doesn't matter what setting and do you know if those are located in the fuse box under the hood or under the dash?

Turn key on, set switch on high, measure voltage across the motor terminals (with the motor and everything else plugged in). If you have battery voltage going into the motor but it doesn't turn, motor needs to be replaced.
