This turned out to be a bit expensive but if you have resources it works well. I bought the following LCA ball joint inserts for the Type R DC5 LCA to USDM knuckle.

After he removed the stock ball joint we found that the insert was a bit small so he sleeved it and pressed it in, a washer now goes under the castle nut to hold it all together. The labor to do this was $250 for me but Im sure many on here can handle the job. later on we are going to fit Mugen compliance bushings but for now I'm leaving them stock.

I made my ball joint adapters. The insight ball joint nut has a monster flange on it, no need for a washer to capture the sleeve. (not pictured)
