Hey all,
My girl has an 88 civic hatch and I'm in the process of revitalizing it. We just encountered a tail light issue and i've reached a road block. See attached photo's for a visual.
The Fuse that controls the tails, also controls the license plate light and interior dash lights, which ARE working. The running lights, and Brake lights do not work! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I checked the bulbs and they seem to be okay! Wondering if anyone had any insight. Thank you!!
I had this sort of problem happen to me on a 90 Integra and I think it was something wrong inside the ICU (grey-ish box attached to the back of the under-dash fuse box). I only assume this as I swapped it thinking it would fix a different issue and my running/tail lights suddenly worked again.
Thanks for the response. Just an update, I changed out the bulbs just because I had no other thoughts and it fixed my problem but another one arose. When you press the brakes, the left tail light goes out. SO, i suppose im gettng close but sounds like an electrical problem to me.
Are they both the correct bulbs that you put in? I believe they should be dual filament, someone please correct me if I am wrong. I've made that mistake a long time ago myself.
yup 24ten is right
all 4 brake light bulds are dual filament
one problem that is starting to happen with these cars is the connectors where you put the bulbs in
the conections are old often dirty and worn
sometimes you can get away with a wire brush and greese afterwards combo to get the lights to work again
but new connectors would be a wise thing to think about
