HELP! 89 won't start
I was driving on the highway and my car (89 Integra LS/D16A1) just quit. It turns over, but it won't start. I checked for spark by putting the wire again the valve cover and it arc'ed on all cylinders. I also checked for fuel pressure at the filter, and it was good. The plugs are brand new, and had fuel on them when I checked. I performed resistance checks on the distributor, so I'm pretty sure the coil is good. And I replaced the igniter with a brand new one. Any ideas?
maybe you're getting a big voltage drop for some reason. if your fuel pump is priming and your fuel pressure is good (assuming no broken/screwed up belts), it's pretty much gotta be an ignition issue. it's possible that your coil is weakening. This is an interesting development. i hope you get it figured out.

Thanks for the advice. My friend tested the coil and he said it was good. The only thing I haven't done is replaced the whole distributor. Something else I noticed, though, is that the wire to the crank angle sensor is frayed. But even still it should work as long as most of the wires are still intact, right? I wrapped it in electrical tape to see if it made a difference. I'm just trying to get some input before I go spending a bunch of money on new parts that I might not even need, but I have a feeling I may end up doing just that.

OK, here's an update. I took the spark plugs out and let the fuel evaporate. Before I put the plugs back in I made sure they were dry. Tried starting the car, even stepped on the gas. Still didn't start, but when I pulled the plugs out they were completely dry. So, I had a friend watch for mist coming out of the cylinder (removed the plug and he put his hand over the hole). Nothing came out. I know the pump is working because I can hear it. So, with this, what might that be? What do I need to check?
OK, I need to ask a huge favor of anyone with an 89 LS. I need them to try unplugging the crank angle sensor and starting the car. Let me know what happens. It's a long shot, but I heeded everyone's advice so far and still no luck.
