Car not starting... Beeping
Ok so this happened today. Tried to start my 1998 Honda Civic lx. Side markers and tail lights flash on and off. Beeping noise from under the dash. Radio won't turn on. Windows, headlights, and interior light come on. Can hear a single click when I try to start it. Took the battery out and had it tested. The auto parts place said it was a good battery but put it on the charger for an hour. Hooked the battery back up... Same thing. A small red light is flashing near my radio head unit buy I've never had a key fob nor knew that it had an alarm system (still don't know if it does).i bought this car used obviously just to commute to work. Any ideas??? Fuse? Relay? Ecu? Starter? Alternator? I'm lost!!! Please help
Any way to know? The horn isn't sounding. It appears everything is stock. I do know it was bought at a auction before I bought it. My key to start the car doesn't open the doors. I simply leave my doors unlocked. Like I said I use this car just to commute. Any help would be appreciated

So it appears 1998 civics didnt come with factory alarms. Mine doesn't have an aftermarket alarm. No wiring harnesses nothing. So it's not an alarm. Just lights, head unit, and dash coming on and off. A beeping under the dash that most say is a warning that the battery is dead. But I just charged mine. It has a "valet button" hit it... Nothing ugh
Just wanted to say thanks for the info! I looked at the diagrams you posted. Figured I'd start with the easier steps first. Well I found the solution. If anyone has this happen to them with a stock security system remove the number 6 fuse under the dash. Car started right up! Thanks again!
