Weird startup questions
Hello, I am a second time poster. I am having a problem starting my Honda Del Sol 1995 VTEC engine. When I try and start up the car, the car clicks multiple times. However all the lights are on (Radio and Dash) No warning lights. I can, however, jumpstart the car.
I took a voltmeter across the battery and read approximately 12.2 V. Across the alternator was 12.1 V (give or take .1) The weird part is that if I put the ignition in accessory, the volts go down to 8.1 AND STAYS. I have to jumpstart the car again. I purchased a little portable battery starter until I can figure out what the problem is
Two things were done in the car. The driver's side headlight was replaced and a car alarm was installed. The car alarm was removed by removing the fuse. In addition, the battery NEVER discharges fully. So I don't think anything is draining the battery. I retain all my presets and headlights work a full 5 days after the car is parked.
Any idea what could be causing this? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Weird startup questions
The battery appears to be bad. Now test the alternator by measuring voltage across the battery posts with (1) the warm engine idling and all electrical accessories off versus (2) the warm engine idling and the high beams on, rear window defogger on, and A/C running on MAX.

Re: Weird startup questions
Thanks for the response. I will do that tonight and respond with results.
