Aerodynamics Question???
What would this do for your 1/4 mile time? Besides reduce cooling...
The tape over the bumper, incase some dont see it.
Thanks.

Closing up all the cracks in the front makes it more aerodynamic and you gain 1-5mph depending on the speed your car can go.
NASCAR boys use this technique , its a fine line of going fast but keeping the engine cool
I can only say by personal trial and error that it starts to show a difference in the 1/4 on cars that exceed 100mph in the 1/4

The rear bumper in that pics is still there, just the cover is removed. Also it isn't just a weight thing. The rear bumper creates drag as the air underneath the car is captured in the rear bumper, hence STR'S D-Fuzer, from days gone by. It allows the airt to eascape, and not remain trapped in the bumper skin, Mista Bone's thing does the exact same thing, for waaay less $$$ though

The picture I cant see but I am guessing it is a pic of a real diffuser not those holes-in-bumper plates. Anyway yes diffusers do work and they work very well when they are done correctly. It takes many calculations and some CFD work to do it right. As far as being able to reverse the diffuser and use it on the front...I am afraid it wont work. The rear dffuser works by having the air underneath the car go from a high velocity(small space) to a very low velocity(very large space) as the air exits the rear of the car. The pressure difference between the air below the rear of the car and the air above the rear of the car is what creates the downforce and as stated earlier by tony has a very small penalty (drag) compaired to a conventional wing. Now there are many more ways to create pressure differences then just diffusers that have not been tried on FWD cars and do have alot of merrit, but I cant really spill the bean on any of them quite yet.

It was just time for him to move on I suppose. It was a very nice car, and fast too, luckily its in good hands now, and being well taken care of.
